Title: Stranded with a Billionaire
Series: Billionaire Boys Club #1
Author: Jessica Clare
The Billionaire Boys Club is a secret society of six men who have vowed success – at any cost. Not all of them are old money, but all of them are incredibly wealthy. They’re just not always as successful when it comes to love…
Billionaire Logan Hawkings needs a vacation.
He’s had a rough time after the death of his father and the betrayal of his fiancée. But with a visit to a recent business acquisition—a private island resort in the Bahamas—he has a chance to mend his broken heart.
When a hurricane blows in, a misplaced passport and a stalled elevator bring Logan together with an unusual woman named Bronte. She’s unlike anyone he’s ever met—down to earth, incredibly sensual, and even quotes Plato.
She also has no clue that he’s rich…
Bronte Dawson, a waitress from the Midwest, is stranded with the hotel’s domineering yet sexy manager Logan. What’s the harm in a little fling when it’s just the two of them, alone in paradise? But after several steamy island nights in Logan’s arms, Bronte’s ready to give her heart—and her body—to the man in charge.
But she soon discovers there’s more to Logan than he’s told her…a billion times more. Now, Bronte’s caught in a whirlwind affair with one of the world’s most powerful men. But can their love endure their differences or will it all just blow over?
I had so much fun reading “Stranded with a Billionaire” by Jessica Clare! It’s not your typical billionaire book where they have lots of sex(though they do have that :D) and everything else doesn’t matter. Here our heroine, Bronte(after the classics author), is a nice waitress from Austin who falls in love with a guys that isn’t what he seems
The book starts with a hurricane evacuation from one of the Bahamas islands. Bronte is there with a colleague because she won a vacation and was nice enough to let the harpy, I mean the other woman, tag along. She’s persuaded to search the room again because the ditzy acquaintance can’t find her pass port. As she descends in the elevator the power falls and she gets stranded this hot, remote guy in a hurricane…
That part of the book as they meet and get to know each other and, at the same time, scavenge the hotel kitchens and gift shops for food, clothes and other necessities was my favorite part of the book. Logan, the hot elevator guy, decides not to tell the weird, philosophy sprouting, but very sweet and fun, woman his real identity. He likes how she treats him, like a normal guy, not a cash cow, and they, inevitably, have sex together.
After their rescued Bronte discovers he lied to her and dumps his sorry ass. This leads to some more adventures, Logan doing some outrages stuff, but all ends well in the end :) What I liked most about them was that, in the end, after some running and some asinine actions, they talked like normal people and that they didn’t repeat the same mistakes over and over again.
Logan when one of his plots backfires :D |
One of the subplots of the story is Logan’s Brotherhood of billionaire friends. We get to meet them and spend a little time with them. I can’t wait to read about all of them!
Me, after finishing the book |
It was a great, fun book and as soon as I finished it I started the next in the series. It was exactly what I needed.
