Review: Wanted by J. Kenner

Title: Wanted
Author: J. Kenner
Series: Most Wanted #1
Publish date: 7th January 2014

For fans of Fifty Shades of Grey, Bared to You, and Release Me comes an all-new erotic series of three enigmatic and powerful men, and the striking women who can bring them to their knees.

He is everything I crave, all I desperately want—and he is everything I can’t have.

Evan Black embodies my every fantasy. He is brilliant, fierce, and devastatingly handsome. But he is also headstrong, dangerous, and burdened with secrets.

My family warned me to stay away, that I could never handle Evan’s dark dealings or scarred past. Maybe I should have listened. Maybe I should have run. But our desire is undeniable, and some temptations you just can’t fight.

And from the moment we touch—the passion between us consuming us both—I know that I will never be the same.

Wanted is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

This was more of a fantasy then a story. We have the hot male character and the adrenalin seeking heroine and that’s about it. There isn’t more to the story, though a spurned lover and criminal activities are thrown in, it still doesn’t create a story with a plot.

Angelina is a 20 something daughter of a US senator who has just lost her uncle, the only person who actually sees her(yes, drama lama is involved in this book). She suffers from survivor’s guilt, some stuff with her sister which I can’t go into detail about, because it would be to spoilerish. She also feels alive when she does stupid crap like shoplifting, don’t ask me to explain, I have no idea how.

Evan is our criminally inclined hero, I think he was inspired by Roarke from the In Death series, he is unfortunately a pale copy of the original. Our hero has the hots for Angie as she has for him, but her uncle has made him promise not to get involved.

Some deep thoughts, stupid decisions and drama-llama later they fall into bed… They have hot sex and spend some time together, but unfortunately he fights their relationship and she has made some stupid promises to her parents.

Meet Drama-Llama!

All the above kind of make the whole book… they have some more sex, very hot sex I agree, a priceless treasure makes an appearance, the a-hole ex tries to drive them apart after they decide to make a go of it and then a happily ever after and the end.

All in all it wasn’t a bad book, just very predictable and nothing happens, or that’s just how it made me feel. I had fun reading it, it’s true, but I also rolled my eyes at the drama-llama a lot, in the end though it was a very enjoyable read.
