Review: Sweet Little Lies by Jill Shalvis

Title: Sweet Little Lies
Series: Heartbreaker Bay #1
Author: Jill Shalvis

Choose the one guy you can’t have . . .

As captain of a San Francisco Bay tour boat, Pru can handle rough seas—the hard part is life on dry land. Pru loves her new apartment and her neighbors; problem is, she’s in danger of stumbling into love with Mr. Right for Anybody But Her.

Fall for him—hard . . .

Pub owner Finn O’Riley is six-foot-plus of hard-working hottie who always makes time for his friends. When Pru becomes one of them, she discovers how amazing it feels to be on the receiving end of that deep green gaze. But when a freak accident involving darts (don’t ask) leads to shirtless first aid, things rush way past the friend zone. Fast.

And then tell him the truth.

Pru only wants Finn to be happy; it’s what she wishes for at the historic fountain that’s supposed to grant her heart’s desire. But wanting him for herself is a different story—because Pru’s been keeping a secret that could change everything. . . .

Main characters:
Prudence "Pru"
Fin O'Riley

What I Liked: This was a great introduction to a new series. Jill Shalvis knows how to write books and people that you wanna know more about. The series takes place in San Francisco, but most of the characters are friends and/or live in the same apartment bloc, it gives it a small town feel.

Pru and Finn were lots of fun apart but also together. Pru capitans boats and Finn is an owner and bartender of the best bar in the neighborhood. Pru is kind of a goodie-two-shoes: she feels tremendous guilt for something her parents have done and now she can't let it go. She has to help and know that everyone involved is happy. As you can imagine it gets annoying. Finn has the older-brother syndrome: he's a workaholic and everything has to be as close to perfect as possible. He's also closed of emotionally in regards to love.

What I didn't like: It was predictable. Sometimes I appreciate this, some other times I get bored. It depends on the mood.

Favorite character: Elle: that woman is all-knowing! I love her! I hope she gets a book.p[update: I checked and it's book 3!!!]

My least favorite character: There isn't a character that I couldn't like in this book.

Favorite scene: Finn groveling

Would I recommend the book: If you like Jill Shalvis or small town romances or funny books try this!
