This first book of Scarlett Cole was amazing! It has drama and angst and hidden relationships and, like, a LOT of drama.

The whole series centers around a Manchester band on the brink of making it big. It's also about family, the one you're born into and the one you make. I actually never thought about reading a book/series that was about a band making it big. I read about one about to splinter, one that is dealing with the drama of being famous, about the fight with alcoholism and drugs, but never about how it all was before they made it big. It was fascinating!

Matt and Izabel are lovely together and I am glad they realized it pretty fast. Them hiding it was the big problem for them. I absolutely loved that we didn't have the big misunderstanding trope here. They are good people apart and together they are even better. They push each other to be better, to dream bigger to be the best they can be. It's all you can ever one in a relationship.

I can't wait to see where we go from this book and I am beyond grateful that Scarlett has book 2 already on preorder for in about 2 months.

Ms Spencer knows how to write! This book has a lot of tropes enemies to lovers, one bed/carriage, May-December, and they're all written with Ms Spencer's flair.

We met both hero and heroine in the last book, the heroine in the last series actually, and I wondered how she would make everything work. In the 1st book in the series Godric is a complete asshole, not only that, he's actually the villain. When I saw that Eva kidnapped him, I couldn't understand her thought process: what did you think it will happen woman?!

Godric suffers from PTSS and that's what drives him in book 1 and also in book 2. He's actually not a complete asshole, but he can't see besides his perceived revenge. When he's with Eva, he can't not be charmed. She's kind of everything he's not: she embraces her emotions, she's not afraid to love, she's enjoying her life(not the season though) and she's being true to herself.

I had a lot of fun reading this and Ms Spencer made me feel so much! I cheered and cried with Eva and I never wanted this book to end... But when it did, it had a phenomenal ending so now, I just want the next book :D

Samantha Young is one of my auto-buy authors since I first read “On Dublin Street” years ago. I’m so happy I got to read an ARC of this book! It has it all: love, suspense, a lovely setting, an interesting cast of characters…
The book starts with a glimpse of our female MC a year before the action of the book begins. She’s a cop and she’s on the job with her friend and partner and she gets shot. That completely changes her life and convinces her to be brave and confront the father she loves, but has abandoned her when she was a teenager. Robyn goes to Scotland and besides her father, she also meets the man she also holds responsible for father leaving, the ex-actor Lachlan Adair.
Robyn and Lachlan have an antagonistic relationship and she especially enjoys needling him. It’s one of my favorite tropes actually: enemies to lovers. They are pressed by circumstances to tolerate each other and work together, and that’s how they discover they have things and values in common.
I really loved the secondary characters starting with Mac, Robyn’s father, Lachlan’s siblings, his staff and the people leaving in the village near his estate turned business. They are quirky and real and I’m sure they will be lovely in the books to come.
As I said when I started writing this review, Sam Young continues to be one of my auto-buy authors and this is a winner of a book for me.
