Very addicting book, I couldn’t put it down! It reminds me of a story set in the world of Gossip Girl and/or Sex and the City.
The book starts with the FBI kicking in Chloe’s door and evicting her. You can imagine that from there I just forgot about the outside world. Chloe, at first, is a shallow, spoiled little rich girl, but as the time passes she experience what real people live like and we see her growing. She becomes a lovely young woman who cares about people more than she did about money and status.

Her struggle between the 2 guys symbolizes perfectly her old and new lives. Vic is her old life: money with no substance and an asshole to boot. Carter is the new life: he has a job, he’s not spoiled and we can see that he really cares about her as a person.

Ms Torre wrote fascinating secondary characters. Chloe’s 2 BFFs are hilarious and I’d love to have friends like them in real life. They are there when she needs them, they give great advice and they stop her when she wants to do really stupid stuff. Chloe’s boss reminds me of Cruella Devile, she seems to have mood swings, she’s self-centered and I really loved hating her, and as Chloe said “she’s the ghost of future Christmas” LOL. In her we see what our heroine would have been like if she didn’t get the metaphorical kick in the face to change.
All in all, this was definitely an Alessandra Torre book: kept me on my toes, made me laugh, made me roll my eyes and fucked with my sleep[I HAD to stay up to see what happened] :D
